    Antique Farmhouse Kitchen Cabinet

Published by Pam Kessler | 404 words. · About 3 minutes to read this article. - 16 Comments

A few years ago I found this antique farmhouse kitchen cabinet at a garage sale for a song. The woman was moving into assisted living and drastically downsizing her things and was very happy that I was very happy with finding it.

I brought it into the house, set it here and it's never moved. It's just about the most perfect piece of vintage goodness known to man and I want to hug it every single time I walk past.

I love the utilitarian look of it, the cool to the touch enamel top, the bakelite knobs, the wire cooling rack on the inside and even its chippy exterior.

Although I'm not sure "chippy" really belongs in a kitchen setting.

It's fine as long as I'm not scraping the paint off the legs and putting it in my cookies or anything like that, right?

What can I say, I love my cabinet.

I also enjoy knowing that countless woman have used this cabinet in their kitchens. Rolling out pie dough. Cutting out biscuits. Mixing cookie dough.

And having no idea that some crazy woman in the future would be showing it off on the internet to thousands of people. To be fair, they probably would have no idea what the internet was.

BTW, the yellow bowl is a vintage McCoy fish scale mixing bowl I found at a yard sale for $4. It's one of my all-time favorite finds.

I also have a pink fish scale one.

And what do I store inside this cabinet of awesomeness, you ask?

Maybe a stack of vintage mixing bowls? Wooden handled cookie cutters? Ironstone pitchers and plates?

Sorry to disappoint, folks. But in real life, it holds camera gear.

I find it very easy to just grab my camera backpack and tripod as I run out the door, since they're right here. Sort of like a mudroom for camera gear.

Oh, the cookies? Yeah, they're my Best Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and you can find the recipe HERE.

Pam you've done it again. You always find the most fabulous finds ever. I just love this because my grandmom had a very similar one. You never cease to amaze me with your finds and inspire me with your style. I've been a long time subscriber to your blog, but I had to break down and follow you on Pinterest. I guess I'll spend the next few weeks just checking out your boards. I hope I don't miss any Pinterest trends while I'm checking out all your boards and pins. I can hardly wait! Lol. Anyway...Best of luck and happy finds of great treasures for 2016. I'm looking forward to them. Thanks for sharing with us.

There is a little hint of jealousy in Leland, NC today. I love your little cabinet and your two bowls! The wooden utensils are exquisite, too. My wife doesn't like wood utensils for some reason, but if I win, I will use it!!! Thank you for the opportunity to win!

That cabinet is awesome! I was just watching flea market flip and they showed how you can mix wood glue with a little bit of water and brush it over chippy wood pieces and it will seal in the perfection. Loved that tip!

What an absolutely LOVELY cabinet!!! I had one similar years ago and it breaks my heart to say it but when we moved years ago I gave it to my sister-in-law and she sold it!!! Boo!
Mine was about double the size and had a flour bin in a cabinet. I would so love to have it back. :). Yours is beautiful and you made me laugh and what you stored inside. Oh well, we can't always live in the pages of a magazine can we? 😀
Happy Memorial Day - have a safe weekend!
